About Pride of the North Drag

Mission Statement

“At Pride of the North, we cultivate a vibrant, inclusive community in the Northwoods by celebrating diversity through local events and performance. As a Rhinelander-based 501(c)(3) non-profit, our mission is to create safe, welcoming spaces where everyone—regardless of who they are—can find belonging, expression, and joy.”

Guidelines for a Good Time.

At Pride of the North, we believe the best shows happen when everyone feels safe, respected, and ready to have a blast. Here is everything you need to know before the curtains rise.

🛡️ Our Community Code of Conduct

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to creating a safe haven for the LGBTQ+ community and our allies in Rhinelander.

  • Zero Tolerance: We have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory behavior of any kind.
  • Consent is Key: Always respect the physical space of our performers and fellow audience members.
  • Supportive Vibes Only: We’re here to celebrate art and identity. If you see something, say something—our staff and security are always available to help.

💵 Tipping 101: How to Support the Magic

New to drag? Tipping is a time-honored tradition and the best way to show your love for a performance!

  • Bring Your Singles: Drag is an expensive art form! Small bills (typically $1, $5, or $10) are the standard way to tip during a number.
  • The “Reach”: When a performer approaches, you can hold your tip out. Let them come to you—please do not reach toward a performer’s face, hair, or costume.
  • Digital Tipping: Many of our performers also have Venmo or CashApp handles. Look for these on the screens or posters during the show!

📍 Venue & Accessibility FAQs

We want to make sure everyone can enjoy the show comfortably.

Photos & Video: We love it when you tag us! However, please be mindful of those around you and avoid using flash during the performances.

Is it Accessible? Most of our Rhinelander partner venues are fully wheelchair accessible. Please check the specific event page for venue-specific details regarding ramps and seating.

Age Requirements: While we love our younger fans, many of our evening shows are 18+ or 21+ due to venue liquor licenses. We clearly mark “All Ages” or “Family Friendly” events in our events section. Always bring your ID!
